Fusion Middleware is a comprehensive and unified middleware platform that includes products such as WebCenter, Business Intelligence, Content Management, and WebLogic Server. It powers many solutions such as Java, identity management, service oriented architecture, and data integration. These hotpluggable services and solutions share a common Grid infrastructure, enabling them to be deployed independently, integrated, or distributed in a cluster of servers for industry-leading performance, scalability, and reliability.
WebCenter connects applications, information and people by weaving together the most complete and open portfolio of portal, Web experience management, social and collaboration technologies, structured and unstructured content into a single, integrated suite. Channeling the right information in the context of the business process in which users are engaged, WebCenter creates intuitive portals, composite applications, and mash-ups that seamlessly interoperate with business applications.
WebCenter Content unifies document, digital asset, Web content, and records management. A single-architecture approach allows all content-documents, Web pages, imagery, email and records to be accessed via common interfaces and desktop tools, improving ease of use, sharing, searching, and compliance.
Data Integrator: Data Services are feature-rich, virtual views built across federated and heterogeneous data sources such as semi-structured sources, relational databases, and Web services. They simplify and mediate bidirectional data access and updates for business processes, portals, and applications.
WebLogic Server is the cornerstone application server and Java runtime platform implementing the Java EE specification and Web Services standards. It provides industry-leading performance and scalability through state-of-the-art clustering, built-in software load balancing, server self-monitoring, overload protection, and GridLink for Oracle RAC.

BPEL Process Manager (BPEL PM)

BPEL PM provides a standards-based and easy-to-use solution for integrating services and legacy systems, building loosely coupled net-centric applications, automating business processes, and orchestrating cross application workflows. The core BPEL engine runs on any J2EE server and natively executes BPEL. The user-friendly BPEL designer in JDeveloper provides wizards that simplify tasks such as connecting systems and graphically designing flows. A Web-based console allows administrators to manage, debug, and audit processes. Human workflow services provide task, notification, and worklist management. Integration services provide XSLT and XQuery transformation as well as bindings to hundreds of systems.


Business Activity Monitoring (BAM)

BAM empowers business executives with real-time monitoring and proactive alerting of business processes. They can track key performance indicators and service levels and take corrective actions from a dashboard. Users enjoy rich and interactive dashboards built with the latest Web technology to receive real -time data and personalized reports. Optionally, configurable alerts can be sent to users via other channels such as email, fax, or phone. BAM’s architecture utilizes advanced analytics monitoring, data caching, messaging, and data integration technology to deliver requested critical information within seconds of an event.


Event Processing

Event Processing is a complete real-time end-to-end Java EDA solution platform. Built on a Java container based on OSGi, it supports ultra-high throughput (millions of events per second) and microsecond latency. Event Processing detects patterns in the streams of events by applying rules to discern patterns and trends and by correlating, and aggregating data across event sources via a Continuous Query Language (CQL).


Business Rules

Business Rules enable users to easily define flexible workflows and policies that govern business processes and application logistics without coding. It effectively reduces application modification costs and improves a system’s agility. Authoring and adding rules is easy with the Web-based console and natural language declaration. These rules are executed by a JSR-94 compliant and RETE-based engine.


Fusion Middleware Adapters

Fusion Middleware Adapters are specialized WSIF/JCA based connectors that enable fast, bi-directional integration between Oracle’s Fusion Middleware components and any data source or application. Adapters are available for over 300 COTS applications and databases, for technologies and protocols such as FTP and JMS, for legacy and mainframe data sources such as Tuxedo, VSAM, and CICS.


Service Bus (SB)

Oracle Service Bus is a proven, lightweight SOA integration platform and a key component of the Oracle SOA Suite product family. It eliminates tightly coupled point-to-point connections and replaces them with an intelligent intermediary providing service governance, visibility, interaction and management across heterogeneous service end-points, for both service consumers (service clients) and service providers (business services). OSB is designed to connect, mediate, and manage interactions between heterogeneous services, not just Web services, but also Java and .Net , messaging services and legacy endpoints. It offers configuration-driven service integration with intelligent content and identity-based routing, dynamic XQuery or XSLT message transformation, and optimized transports to ERP and WebSphere MQ-based applications. As well, it implements the latest SOA standards such as WS-RM and WS-Security. OSB also combines integration, messaging, operational service management, and securityenforcement capabilities in a single product.


Business Process Analysis (BPA) Suite

BPA Suite captures business requirements in standardized models and further simulates and performs impact analysis on those process models before converting them to an executable process. It is innovatively integrated with the process execution and monitoring tools (Oracle SOA Suite) for complete life cycle management of business processes, enabling business analysts and developers to effectively collaborate and eliminate gaps between strategy and execution. Key functions enable analysts to design conceptual process maps; define goals, KPIs, SLAs, Risk and Control models; design detailed flows consisting of automated activities, human workflow, rules, data (structured and unstructured); and discover process and resource bottlenecks. Oracle BPA Suite is comprised of four components:

  • Oracle Business Process Architect for modeling and simulation.
  • Oracle Business Process Publisher for role based presentation of process content to a Web portal.
  • Oracle Business Process Server for storing and providing concurrent access to business process models and related artifacts. • Oracle SOA Extensions enable you to take business processes from concept to execution by sharing process blueprints with Oracle SOA Suite.


Business Process Management (BPM) Suite

BPM Suite is a complete process modeling, management, simulation, optimization, and execution solution. The suite includes user-centric design tools that leverage a "what you design is what you execute" model: BPM Studio client facilitates modeling BPMN 2.0 and BPEL modeling, simulation, process analysis, and reporting; Process Composer provides a Web-based interface for modeling and customizing processes. The unified process foundation combines a BPMN 2.0, BPEL, Rules, and Workflow engine. The suite also provides advanced collaboration throughout the process lifecycle by integrating Enterprise 2.0 workspaces, wikis, blogs, dashboards and mashups into the process management context.


Managed File Transfer

MFT enables secure and reliable file exchange and management between systems. It provides end-to-end security, monitoring, and auditing of file transfers. MFT also supports LDAP and PGP encryption and integrates with Oracle SOA Suite, B2B, and Identity Management to enable sophisticated file orchestration across a variety of endpoints. MFT also includes a web designer and management user interface, file transfer controls (pause/resume/cancel), file archival and purge utilities, compression and scheduling.


Stream Explorer

Stream Explorer provides an easy-to-use user interface to create and modify real time event stream processing applications and a comprehensive runtime platform to manage and execute these solutions. It enables organizations to develop and reuse complex event-driven applications without expertise of event driven architectures, the standards-based Continuous Query Language (CQL), or the high performance Java Event Server. The abstracted visual user interface enables users to explore and analyze live real time streaming data.
